Meeting Minutes
Executive Meeting
Apr 15, 2013
Present: Dion Pollard, Jason Almond, Rob Anderson, Troy Winterhalt, Brian Wareham, Gary Goreniuk
and Brett Bykowski.
Regrets: Dwayne Lundquist, Scott Walker
Call to Order: 6:05pm
1. Adoption of Agenda
Agenda was presented with no additions.
Moved by Wareham, all in favour. “Carried”
2. Approval of Minutes from Feb. 11, 2013 meeting
Moved by Bykowski, all in favour. “Carried”
3. Treasurer’s Report
Almond reported issues with AJHL payments still to be resolved. The book balance read
as of March 31, 2013 at $8758.20.
Moved by Almond, 2nd by Anderson. “Carried”
-Zone Fees- Discussion took place for the coming 2013-14 season fees. Level 1 $15 ($10)
Level 2 $25 ($20) Level 3 $35 ($30) Level 4 $45 ($40) Level 5 $55 ($50) Level 6 $65 ($60).
Wareham moved that the above rates be presented to the membership for approval for
2013/14 season. All rates would see a $5.00 increase per level, 2nd by Anderson.

4. Chairman’s Report
Pollard reported that the provincial tournaments hosted in the zone went good and
there were no complaints. He was also looking for NE Zone representatives to go to the
HA AGM in early June.
5. Upgrade Requests
-Derek Cote, Glendon – Moved by Bykowski, 2nd by Goreniuk that he be upgraded from
level 2 to 3. “Carried”
- Ryan Duffett, Hughenden – Moved by Anderson, 2nd by Bykowski that he be upgraded
from level 2 to 3. “Carried”
- Curtis Leschinski, Lloydminster – Moved by Anderson, 2nd by Winterhalt that he be
upgraded from level 2 to 3. “Carried”
- Chris Nelson, Cold Lake – Moved by Wareham, 2nd by Goreniuk that he be upgraded
from level 2 to 3. “Carried”
- Chris Reid, Cold Lake – Moved by Wareham, 2nd by Anderson that he be upgraded from
level 2 to 3. “Carried”
- John Rickert, Cold Lake – Moved by Wareham, 2nd by Anderson that he be upgraded
from level 2 to 3. “Carried”
- Anita Zacher, Cold Lake – Moved by Wareham, 2nd by Goreniuk that she be upgraded
from level 2 to 3. “Carried”
- Josh Boyce, Lloydminster – Moved by Winterhalt, 2nd by Anderson that he be
upgraded from level 3 to 4. “Carried”
- Daniel Gadowski and Kurt Caron are awaiting word from Hockey Alberta about their
fate as to being upgraded to Level 5 status.
- Adam Strickland ***Disqualified*** did not meet supervision policy requirements.

Development Cup/Alberta Cup
Bykowski reported that the Alberta Cup tryouts were good but trying with the Easter
long weekend. Seven officials worked the tryout camp games. Thanks to Travis, Mark
and Dion for their help supervising. Brett was happy with on ice testing and written
exams. Nigel Krochmal and Derek Cote from Glendon were selected to attend the
Alberta Cup tournament.

New Business
-Discipline- Anderson reported that there was 1 incident in which the appropriate steps
were taken and the issue resolved itself.
-Rule 9.6- Pollard reported for Lundquist that there were 4 match penalties called with
two being upheld with 1 and 3 month suspensions. There is still an issue with officials
not assessing a 5 minute time penalty and placing a player in the penalty box with the
match penalty.
-Website- Pollard reported that Ethan did with the website what was asked of him. We
are looking for new webmaster for next season.
-Clinic Instructors- Goreniuk reported that he will be contacting instructors to find out
intentions for next season.
-Executive Honorariums- Moved by Anderson, 2nd by Bykowski. Executive Honorariums
be referred to membership for approval as follows: Chairman $575, Treasurer $350,
Secretary $225, Development $125, Supervisions $200, Website $150, Match Penalty
$125, Vice Chairman $150, Clinics $275, AJHL $150, and ACAC was eliminated as Portage
College paid their own assigning fee. Registrar was estimated to be $450 based on
$1.00/official registered. Honorariums totalling $2775.00. “Carried”
Discussion also took place and decided by the executive in attendance that supervisor
fees to be paid to Dwanye Lundquist ($250), Dion Pollard ($250), and Doug Rawluk
($125) for their assistance at the Jr B Provincials in Wainwright.
- Golf Tournament- Scheduled for May 11/13 in St. Paul.
