Who’s Next Friday 4 – Monday 7 July and Tranoi Preview Friday 4 – Sunday 6 July 2014

A major international Paris trade show, Who’s Next covers a wide range of men’s and women’s fashion; from designer collections and eveningwear, to urban and casualwear, and a large selection of footwear and accessories. Boasting boasts

2000 brands and 55,000 visitors (of whom 40% are from outside France). It is split into distinct merchandise sections, across 4 halls at the Porte de Versailles centre in South West Paris - it’s very important to be in the right section.

Grants are also available for Tranoi Preview, the women’s preview collections show in Central Paris.

Applications for these shows are screened; it’s not a matter of simply “buying space”. It’s essential to visit the shows first, to establish where your merchandise would work best. You will need to send company information and visuals by e-mail to the Organisers, at the same time as applying for space. Apply NOW, as space runs out fast in some sections. If you are new to these shows, UKFT can advise you on how best to approach the Organisers.

From April 2014 UK Trade & Investment has reduced the budget for overseas trade shows. This means fewer grants overall, and smaller grants for shows in Europe. Demand is likely to exceed supply.

You should apply to UKFT for the grant at the same time as you apply to the organisers for space. DO NOT wait until you have been offered confirmed space at the show or it may be too late to get a grant.

Grants are not transferable. If you pull out and you don’t inform us by e-mail at least 8 weeks before the show, this causes problems for you and for us. The same applies if you are not able to provide proof of payment after the show which is equal to at least the amount of the grant. We commit to using all the grants allocated to each event and wasted grants put the viability of the whole grant scheme in jeopardy.

Please read the accompanying Guidelines for details.

If you are new to export and/or exhibiting and would like some help, please contact Laurian Davies at UKFT for a free copy of “Making an Exhibition of Yourself – a Guide to Showing Abroad”.

The Government scheme for trade fair support aims to restrict grant assistance primarily to companies who are both

SMEs and NEW EXPORTERS, or who have been exporting for less than 10 years (see attached guidelines for definitions).

However, SMEs who have not shown at the previous edition of this event might still be eligible for a grant even if they are experienced exporters (see the accompanying Guidelines).

Grants will be at a flat rate of £1,200 towards your show costs, provided that you can demonstrate that you paid a minimum of £1,200 on the stand or eligible costs directly related to the exhibition, and are paid after the show. If you would like to apply you should now:

1. Complete the UKFT application forms (2 pages) and the UKTI (TAP) form (3 pages)

2. Send all forms to Laurian Davies at UKFT Laurian.davies@ukft.org

3. Pay the UKFT fee – either by cheque, credit/debit card or bank transfer (see overleaf)

The TAP form is then sent to your local office of UK Trade & Investment, as they decide on your eligibility for grant support. If you are new to the scheme, they may call you for a chat about your business - please read the attached

Guidelines for more detail about this. You must respond promptly to UKTI’s calls or e-mails, so as not to hold up the processing of your application. If you have any queries about this application, please contact Laurian Davies by phone or email laurian.davies@ukft.org

Application for grant reimbursement - Who’s Next and Tranoi Preview Paris, July 2014

Government support takes the form of a reimbursement of £1,200, provided you have paid a minimum of £1,200 on eligible costs directly related to the exhibition. In the unlikely event that your stand cost is insufficient to qualify for a grant, related expenses may also be taken into consideration. Reimbursement will be made after the show, and normally takes up to three months. To be eligible for a UKTI reimbursement, you must be a UK-based SME and a new exporter, unless you did not show at this event last season. See the accompanying sheet for more information and definitions. You must be selling goods originating substantially in the UK, or which add significant value to a product of non-UK origin.

You don’t need to be a Limited Company. You must complete and return to UKFT the UKTI TAP form for this show. After the exhibition you must provide us with proofs of payment within one month of the end of the show and complete a post-event questionnaire.

UKFT FEES: £250 + VAT towards marketing activities. Payment (cheque made out to UKFT, a bank transfer or credit card payment) must accompany this application. This money will be refunded if UKTI deems that you are not eligible for a grant; it will also be refunded if you do not get space at the show, provided you tell us at least 8 weeks before the start of the event.
