Requirements to take the
Board of Governors Exam:
 Complete the application to apply for Fellow
status and become authorized to sit for the
Exam. (Authorization is valid for 3 years.)
Fellow application fee is $250.
 Master’s or other advanced degree
 Current healthcare management position, and 2
years’ healthcare management experience
 3 references from Fellows, including one
structured interview

To earn the FACHE credential
you must also:
 Pass the Board of Governors Examination in
Healthcare Management
 3 years’ tenure as an ACHE Member
 Current healthcare management position and
5 years’ healthcare management
experience
 40 hours of continuing education—at least
12 of which are Category I (ACHE
education) hours – earned during the 5
years preceding becoming a Fellow.
 Participate in 2 healthcare and 2
community/civic activities in the past 3
years
These requirements do not have to be met
in order to take the Exam. They need to
be met before you earn the FACHE title.

We have a distinguished group of faculty instructors.
• A faculty member who is an expert in the field will present each section
covered by the Exam: Governance, Laws & Regulations, Finance, Quality &
Performance Improvement, Human Resources, Healthcare Technology &
Information, Healthcare Knowledge, Management Knowledge, Business
Knowledge, and Professionalism & Ethics.
• You will also be provided with strategies from a Fellow who recently sat for
the Exam.
The exam is 230 questions. Candidates have up to 6 hours to complete it.
The North Florida Chapter will be glad to answer general questions about advancement.
