We begin this week with the very important
news that First Confessions will take place on
Thursday, February 26th at 7.30pm in the
village church.
The parish is currently looking for new recruits
to facilitate the ‘Play and Pray’ group on
Sunday mornings at 11 o’clock mass. Tranining
will be provided. If you are interested, or if you
know anyone who is interested, please contact
Ann McMahon on 368333.
Junior Infant news: Dylan really wants to go
swimming. It’s a bit cold yet Dylan! Lara
explained to the class how electricity works.
Super work Lara! Hope can’t wait for her
birthday. Congratulations to Ethan and his
family who celebrate the arrival of baby Oran.
Ethan is a great help to his mammy! Lucy's
mom has a fabulous French manicure! (No
secret is safe folks!) Katie Sage has lovely red
nails. Ella is proud of her dad who works really
hard.
Jane remembers her trip to Disneyland and
would like to go again.
Senior Infant news: Rosalie’s first wobbly
tooth fell out. Callum was really brave at the
dentist where he had a tooth pulled! Fianna
enjoyed her trip to Denis’ Den. Peter went to the
cinema and really enjoyed it. Everyone really
enjoyed seeing the snowfall on Monday. Adam
got a new phone, lucky duck!
First class news: Aaron went to Nathan’s house
for a sleepover. Owen has a new bedroom and
he built a really cool lego house! Happy
birthday to Zoran’s dad and Emma’s anut and
granny who celebrate the passing of another
year at this time. Niamh can’t wait for her
upcoming trip to England. Abby is off to the
cinema this week. Ellie had fun when there was
a sleepover at her house. J.J. went to the seaside
– brave boy! Connor’s brother got a Wii.
Second class news: Patrick and Callum went to
soccer training. Jade went to her sister’s house
for dinner. Joshua went to James’ party. Jason’s
cousin stayed over for a visit. Sofia’s mum got
new slippers. Patrycya had great fun at Barney’s
Play Place. Killian’s brother got an X-Box.
James Larkin is going to his cousins for a visit.
Andrea is off to Callum’s house. Scarlett’s tooth
fell out and Jacob is going to David’s house for
a sleepover.
Third class news: Lots of children are heading
off on sleepovers this weekend. Ciara’s tooth
fell out. James little brother will be 3 this
weekend. Alice has a new puppy. Michelle has
a new cousin. Shane joined the Showjumping
Association of Ireland. Olympics, here he
comes! Aoibhe got a side fringe. Úna is having
a party on Saturday. Lots of children started tinwhistle classes this week. Piotr’s dad got a new
car and Maciej can’t wait for his birthday on
Monday!
Fourth class news: Hannah’s fish ‘Goldie’ and
Emma’s fish ‘Baby Nemo’ have departed to the
great goldfish bowl in the sky. They will be
sadly missed. Bon voyage to Ciarán, who has a
weekend away coming up. Happy birthday to
Adam, who will be 10 on Saturday. Adam and
all his team mates on the U-11 team were
thrilled to meet and receive their medals from
Irish soccer star, Ray Houghton, last weekend.
Fifth class news: Megan has a new baby cousin
called Hayden, in America. Kealan is looking
forward to having a new cousin soon. Tamara’s
dad got a new phone and Amber got two new
DS games.
Sixth class news: Happy birthday to Cathal
Finnucane who celebrates his 12th birthday on
Sunday. Luke’s brother is going for his theory
test. Best of luck! Sarah got a new puppy called
Charlie. Well done to Fina who got a distinction
in her flute exam. Nathan and Alan’s brother is
getting a new car. Belinda has a new baby
cousin. Eva’s new baby cousin, Jean, is coming
for a visit this weekend. Marcus is looking
forward to going to the Gaiety Theatre soon.
Incredible years training begins for parents on
March 4th. This is a follow on from the
programme already running in the school.

Our school has been selected to participate in
the East West Project, funded by Leargas. The
East West Programme is a schools-based
programme initiated under the Good Friday
Agreement to strengthen school partnerships
and to encourage friendship and understanding
between young people in Ireland and the United
Kingdom. Ms. Arthur will travel to Wales next
weekend to represent the school. Keep an eye
out for an article in the Clare People in the next
few weeks.
Green tip: Leave the car at home for short
journey’s e.g. trips to the shop, library etc.
