TIPS FOR MAKING PROJECTS: -Make sure you have adult supervision when using power tools! -Keep all projects away from pets, especially CATS!!! -Never spray paint Styrofoam; it will melt! -Be careful with all razor blades when cutting model materials! -Hot glue lives up to its name; be careful or you may lose a layer of skin! -Do not glue or staple a costume together; sewing is the only option. -Avoid the expensive papier mache mixes at the store; newspaper and a glue/water solution is the best option. -Avoid using clay for projects; it rarely works like you want it to, crumbling and breaking easily. -If you are doing a painting, it is easiest to find a picture and sketch it on a canvas before painting. -Do not paint white foam board…it will curl up because of the moisture from the paint. -Do not use a paint canvas for a magazine mosaic…just use white foam board since glue won’t stick to canvas. -If doing a magazine mosaic, choose a simple picture without a lot of detail so that it is easier to do in magazine pieces.
