Denyse Traeder will be talking to the JH/HS students with 5 th and 6 th graders possibly coming do Denyse’s presentation on Tuesday Oct. 28. The JH/HS students will also be having a poster contest with winners announced at an assembly on Friday

Oct. 31. Everyone is encouraged to wear red on Friday Oct. 31.

Discussion of revisions to mission statement: The parents of 7-12 students will be asked for input on our current District Mission Statement during the upcoming parent teacher conferences. After community input, Annual Yearly Progress, input from other committees, and completion of RTI training at the elementary level, the SIC will be conducting a ‘retreat’ to review input and revise the mission statement and goals. This retreat is tentatively scheduled for February after the last RTI meeting in Missoula.

New Business:

Committee reports were shared

Other topics as needed:

Lumen training: An Early Early Out is scheduled for this Wednesday, October 29 to address

Lumen issues. JH/HS staff can see the recent e-mail from Mr. Labbe for a tentative agenda of the upcoming training. Elementary staff can plan on meeting in the elementary lab. From 1:00

– 2:30 elementary staff will work on formulating any questions that might still need answers.

From 2:30 – 3:30, a Lumen representative will be available via conference call in the elementary lab to answer questions in real time. The Lumen representative will have real time access to images projected on our Smart Board and will even be able to manipulate our Smart

Board.

CRT/MONTCAS training: The November Early Early Out Training was previously devoted to

CRT/MONTCAS analysis and discussion of these scores. However, this training has been postponed until January 28. On November 26, we will be able to leave after we dismiss our students at 1:00. (Yahoo and thank you Mr. Stanley).

RTI training: Kari Labbe and Scott Kinney gave a brief overview of how the first 2 day of RTI training went in Missoula. There will be three more training dates for elementary staff to complete the training. Once this training is completed, assessment of the current curriculum will need to take place, as well as developing a plan for implementation at the building level first, and then the district level.

Bruce Fryar presented information he received at the MEA/MFT conference regarding asthma.

In light of some of the ventilation issues (specifically in his science lab), this information is pertinent for staff who work with students who have asthma and/or allergies.

Adjournment: 4:28
