ACTIVITY REPORT
Title of Activity: Stakeholder Dialogue on Education Reforms
Place: Aaghaz Foundation Office

Objective: 1. Strengthening the interaction between teachers & Village Education Committee.
2. Promote non-formal education/information.
3. To resolve the highlighted inconveniences for non-formal education.
4. Strengthening the Civil Society Role for Education.

Proceedings: On 20th July 2009 Aaghaz Foundation with the collaboration of SPO organized a
dialogue on education reforms. In which formal, non formal school teachers and Village
Education Committee members were participated.
Salman Abid (S.P.O Regional Head), Babar Sb (EDO Literacy) and Miss Nadia (DLO
Literacy) were duly invited. However on certain date Babar Sb, and Nadia were
apologized to attend this meeting due to unavoidable circumstances.
Beside this AHD coordinator Mr. Hanif Ramay and Mr. Nazir Ghazi (GODH Lahore)
were also participants of this dialogue.

Mr. Zafar Malik Moderator of this meeting started discussion with the objectives of
dialogue and highlighted the V.E.C present role.
Salman Abid argued that no doubt that Govt: is custodian for education reforms, but there
is also great role that place on Civil Society to evaluation the education particularly non
formal education. He emphasized civil society to bring optimum changed and positive
thinking for education, in the mind of society people through certain activates.
He said that to accelerate for non formal education can only bring by positive reaction of
V.E.C, as they can play a vital role to promote non formal education.
Non formal school teachers taken an active part in this dialogue and share their views by
appreciation the great efforts of EDO Literacy towards non formal education. They are
specially gratitude to Miss Nadia for good cooperation. However some teachers were
annoyed on some issues like non availability of books, Teacher Training Programme,
Health Facilitation, Load shading and foremost things was non cooperative behavior of
V.E.C
Future Planning: At the end participant concluded that there is need for facilitation and corporation of
V.E.C and Aaghaz Foundation to smooth working of no formal Scholl by giving
technically and financially expertise. Aaghaz foundation should make interaction with
V.E.C by corner meetings and try to resolve the above highlighted inconveniences for
NFBE & ALC school, and maintain a fundraising programme with the collaboration of
charitable person. It is also considered unanimously to organize such type of dialogue for
betterment and strengthen the non formal education system.
