You must select “Yes” in the field “Understand and Agree with the Missed Interview and Late Cancellation Policy”. 1 To add or Remove a major click on “add/Remove” button. A new window will pop up with a list of different departments. Click on the plus button in front of the department with your major. Then check the box right beside your major(s). After clicking your box of choice click the “continue” button. Note: Just select major(s) that apply to you. 2 If done correctly your major/ majors should be in the “Majors” dialog box. Enter all of the information and click the “register” button at the top or the bottom of the page. After this, you may login using the username and password that you created. How to Use MyCatCareers.com: How to Upload a Resume: Hover over “My Account” then click on “My Documents”. 3 Scroll down to “Resume” and select “Upload File”. Enter in a Document Name such as: Resume. Click on “Browse” and find your resume. Click on your resume then select “Open” Select the “Upload” button. How to Search for Internships or Student Employment: Hover over “Jobs & Opportunities”, then click on “Job Search”. Under “Position Type” select “Internship”. Note: You will need to scroll down to find “Internship”***. ***To search for Student Employment scroll down and select “Student Employment”. 4 Fill in as much information as you wish, but remember it will narrow down the amount of employment opportunities to view. Note: Be careful of the location. Example: If you put in Bozeman the search will not pull up locations that are listed under Belgrade. A better choice would be to enter Montana, or leave it blank. To alphabetize the organizations, click on “Organization Name”. To look at the job, click on the “title” or “job ID” number. How to Search for Entry Level Jobs: Hover over “Jobs & Opportunities”, then click on “Job Search”. Under “Position Type” select “Full-time Entry Level”. Fill in as much information as you wish, but remember it will narrow down the amount of employment opportunities to view. 5 Note: Be careful of the location. Example: If you put in Bozeman it will not pull up locations that are listed under Belgrade. A better choice would be to enter Montana. To alphabetize the organizations, click on “Organization Name”. To look at the job, click on the title or job ID number. How to Apply for Jobs and Internships Scroll down on the job profile page. About halfway down the page, before the “Contact Information”, you should see “Application Instructions”. Please follow these instructions to apply. Note: Each job posting has a different way to apply; please be sure to check each one. For instance, some organizations will request you apply on MyCatCareers.com, others will request you apply directly to their web page. 6 How to Submit Your Resume for Jobs and Internships If you would like to submit your resume to the organization, click on “Submit Resume”. Please read the Application Instructions above for details on how to send your resume to the employer or apply for that position. To select which resume gets sent click on “Select Documents”. If you wish, enter a message in the “Student Message” box. Note: Be sure to use Spell Check. Click the “submit” button. 7 On-Campus Recruiting: Hover over “On-Campus Recruiting” and then select “Qualified Schedules”. To alphabetize the organizations, click on “Organization Name”. To look at the job an organization is interviewing for, click on the title or schedule ID number and you should see “Job Description”. 8 How to Sign Up for an Interview If the Current Signup Method is “Open Signup” click on the “Job Title” or the “Schedule ID” Scroll down and click on the interview date. It will bring you to a new screen. Scroll down. Pick a time that works for you. It will then ask you to select a resume. 9 If the Current Signup Method is “Resume Submission Begins” click on the “Job Title” or the “Schedule ID” Click on “Request Interview” Then select the appropriate documents. 10 How Do I know if I was selected for a “Preselect (Resume Submission Begins)” Interview? Hover over “My Account” then, “My Activity”. Select the “Schedules” tab. Go to the “Preselect” tab. 11 If it says “Accepted” under “Preselect Status”, click on the Job Title. Click on “Sign Up”. It will take you to the bottom of the page. Click on the interview date, then pick a time that works for you. You should also receive an email stating you were preselected for that interview. If it says “Student Declined”, sorry but you where not chosen. View Employers Attending Career Fairs! Hover over “Career Events” and then click on “Career Events”. Click on “Search Employees” for the fair you are interested in. To submit your resume to the organization, see “Submitting your Resume” above. 12 Note: It is recommended you research the organization before speaking to the representatives at the fair or before interviewing with them. We recommend 1 to 3 hours of research per organization. Note: When attending the fair remember to dress sharp, bring a resume, a hand shake, and a smile!
