Parent/Teacher Conferences
Congratulations, Mrs. Gould!
Carrie Gould was nominated by our PTO
to represent Centerville Preschool as the
recipient of the Excellence in Education
Award given by the Centerville
Education Foundation. Carrie has been
teaching at Centerville Preschool for 6
years.
Carrie works to build a
community in her class with creativity,
innovation and caring.
One parent
wrote: “Every night we are regaled with
stories of my son’s teacher, her teacher
assistant, and how neat school is thanks
to them. To say that the kindness and
respect that is modeled in her classroom
is
appreciated
would
be
an
understatement”. Mrs. Gould
Mrs. Dahl, Mrs. Gould, Mrs. Davidson,
Mrs. Reazin, Mrs. O’Grady, and Mrs.
Rand are conducting parent/teacher
conferences on the evenings of
Monday, March 23rd and Wednesday,
March 25th. Mrs. O’Grady, Mrs.
Davidson, and Mrs. Dahl are also
conducting conferences on Tuesday,
March 24th. Mrs. Burkhardt plans to have
conferences on Monday, March 23rd
and Tuesday, March 24th.
Teachers will send times home.
We will be discussing your child’s
progress as well as asking for your input
regarding your child’s skills at home.
We value you as a part of our
team, so be ready to celebrate your
child’s growth and to ask any questions
you might have. We look forward to
talking with you!

Literacy Suggestions
Join us for the…
Pancake Breakfast!
Our annual Pancake Breakfast will be
held on Sat. March 7 from 8:30-11:30.
You can still purchase tickets at the
Preschool Office or simply buy them at
the door. Adult tickets are $5, Seniors
are $4 and Children $3 (2 and under)
are free.
We will serve pancakes, bacon,
sausage, juice and coffee. We will also
have a silent auction. The pancake
breakfast serves as the Preschool’s main
fundraiser so come out and support the
PTO and enjoy some GREAT food!
 Read to your child every day.
 Read books with rhymes. Allow the
student to finish a rhyme.
 Help him/her with sequencing skills.
The ability to organize ideas in a
logical sequence is a crucial
component to reading. Snap some
sequential photos of a trip to the
library or to visit a friend, and have
your child put them in order.
 Make written language an
everyday, organic, and meaningful
experience.
 Most children learn to read by being
read to and exposed to the printed
word in their daily lives. Together,
generate a grocery list and write the
words in big block letters. Draw the
picture of the item next to the word
so your child can "read" the list
herself.
*A huge thanks to everyone planning,
working, and donating items to make
the Pancake Breakfast possible. We
really appreciate YOU!

Art to Remember
This fundraiser helps benefit our PTO as
well as could make a great Mother’s
Day gift or preserved piece of your
child’s art. Please return the envelope
by March 26th. We apologize that both
these fundraisers hit at the same time.
Thank you.
A unique opportunity to meet
representatives from organizations and
support groups that provide services to
families of children with disabilities.
