Accreditation General Information
An accreditation badge provides physical evidence of the right to access one or more zones
at one or more venues. However:






An accreditation is a “work permit”. It provides for specific persons to have access to
specific areas in order to perform specific and regular functions. It is not intended for
“what if” or “maybe” situations.
Accreditation is not a visa.
An accreditation does not give the right to a spectator seat.
An accreditation is bound to a specific job or task and does not indicate or confer any
special status.
Accreditation devices remain the property of the ORGANISATION throughout the
tournament.
The accreditation badge is valid for the entire tournament as long as the bearer has
responsibilities.
Application for accreditation for the teams
Each team delegation can apply for and will be provided with 29 accreditations as follows:


21 for players
8 for officials
Officials like the team media officer and the team’s interpreter are part of the official team
delegation and must therefore be included in the total number of accreditations made
available to officials. The Team Liaison Officer (TLO) and the Team Security Liaison Officer
(TSLO) (if applicable) will be accredited by the LOC.
The participating teams have the opportunity to register for accreditation using the
ORGANISATION’s system. These same registrations also provide for the Official (Final) List
of Players and Officials.
Issuing accreditation for the teams
A picture of each member of the team delegation is required for the issuing of all
accreditation badges. To complete this process an accreditation team (comprising of a
members of the LOC accreditation department) will visit the Team Arrival Meetings to take
their photographs. The exact time and date for these visits will be communicated to the
teams by the ORGANISATION General Coordinator.
The LOC accreditation team will then import the images into the accreditation software at the
nearest accreditation centre so that the actual accreditation badges can be issued straight
after and handed over to the ORGANISATION General Coordinator who, in turn, will hand
them over to the TLO or team administrator.
The team administrator or TLO will sign the confirmation form for the passes and distribute
the accreditation badges to the appropriate recipients.
Validity of the accreditation system
The accreditation system is valid for all the stadiums, the official hotels and the Organisation.
This accreditation system does not extend to any other event locations.
