1) You will write three lab reports for this section of experiments molecular orbital calculations for a diatomic molecule
analysis of the vibrational/rotational spectrum of HCl
analysis of the electronic spectrum of I2
A guide to these experiments, including a discussion of items to be included in your lab report, will be
posted. The two spectroscopy experiments are also in the lab manual, and so additional information
concerning those experiments can be found there.
2) You will be assigned to assist in gathering data for one of the two spectroscopy experiments.
For the other experiment, you will receive data from another group. Data and lab reports should be
prepared separately.
3) The due dates for the lab reports are as follows

Note that 4/19 is the last day of classes. Please have all lab reports turned in by that date. Late reports may
