2. In accordance with Art. 3(3) of the CU Study and Examination Code, the Deans of the
Faculties determine in their measures the dates of examination periods, the beginning of
teaching sessions and other details. With regard to the coordination of teaching and
compatibility of study it is recommended that:
a) the beginning of the teaching session in the winter semester be set for October 5, 2015,
or another date should the conditions for teaching at the faculty require so;
b) the period for registration for subjects in the time-tables in the winter semester be set so
that it includes the period of September 14, 2015 to September 20, 2015, and the period
for registration for subjects in the time-tables in the summer semester be set so that it
includes the week from February 8, 2016 to February 14, 2016. Registration for subjects
must be made possible for students of other faculties during these periods;
c) the examination period of the winter semester be set for the period of January 11, 2016
to February 14, 2016, and the examination period of the summer semester for the period of
May 23, 2016 to June 30, 2016.
3. In the period of September 1 to September 30, 2016 examinations for the given academic
year may be taken and dates for state final examinations arranged.
4. Vice-Deans in charge of Study Affairs, or other persons authorised by them, will notify
the Study and Students’ Affairs Department of the proposed dates of mass electronic
registration for subjects in the time-tables and of the proposed commencing dates of the
electronic registration of students of the faculty for examinations for both semesters of the
academic year 2015/2016. The Study and Students’ Affairs Department of the Rectorate
of Charles University in Prague shall consider possible time conflicts of the proposed
dates, discuss their resolution with the relevant faculties, and it shall confirm and publish
final dates by April 30, 2015 at the latest.
5. The date of the Rector’s Day shall be May 18, 2016.
