Incentive Points Each drama student is required to earn 200 “incentive points”. Theatre program incentives include: Attending the school’s play/musical and writing a review (25 points). * Viewing a movie that is/has been a play and writing a review (25 points). * Auditioning for a student body play/musical (25 points). Reading a full-length play and writing a report (25 points). Attending a live theatre production (opera, ballet, play, dance performance) by professional, college, community or high school companies and writing a report (25 points).* Working on a crew or committee involved with the student body play/musical (50-100 points). Working on the set construction for the student body play/musical (25-100 points). Acting, working back stage, ushering, make-up, costumes for the school play/musical (25-200 points). Volunteering to run the backstage for assemblies or evening events in the auditorium (25-100 points). Attending work-parties (sets, costumes, publicity, lights) (20-100 points). Performing in a public performance or drama competition (25-200 points). Participating in drama workshops for grade schools or junior high schools (25-100 points). Participating in a performance in a school assembly (25-100 points). Private classes/lessons (must meet at least 1 hour per week) (25-50 points). Any other extra-credit project or performance outside of regular class assignments. You must check with me before starting a project so that a point value can be assigned to the project. Do not assume a point value for any project. Some things that frequently cause people to not receive full credit: For plays, you must include a program or ticket stub. These will be returned to you. If you do not do the write-up for a performance, it is worth 12 points. For movies, you must do the write-up. No credit is given to simply seeing a movie. All play/movie write-ups must use the Live Performance Report Form format. Points will be reduced, or not even awarded, if this format is not followed. When using this form for a movie, simply disregard the “audience reaction” and “where was play performed” categories. For plays you have read and are reviewing, use the Play Report Form. Again, you risk not receiving the incentive points when you do not follow this format. The Gallery Report form must be followed completely for all gallery write-ups.
