Free Rabbit Health Checks Rabbit Awareness Week begins on 15th September this year and Marske Vets will be showing its support by offering free rabbit health checks throughout the week! This year the RAW campaign is focusing on rabbit vaccinations, to prevent and protect Britain’s most popular small pet from deadly diseases. Marske Vets will be offering free consultations to all rabbit owners and are also giving out goodie bags if you take your rabbit in for a check-up. We are opening our doors to the rabbit owning community this week, to improve the health of the town’s bunnies. The team at the surgery are on hand to offer advice about problems you might be experiencing and also offer information about the vaccinations available, to protect your rabbit from preventable infections Matt Brash, TV vet and RAW supporter, said: “This September, the focus is on raising awareness of rabbits’ vaccination needs, by encouraging owners to consider prevention rather than the cure. Rabbits are prone to catching diseases such as Myxomatosis and even VHD. The later has no cure once a rabbit is infected. “There seems to be confusion about whether or not rabbits need to see a vet. The answer is undoubtedly. With the support of the veterinary community and the pet retail sector, our primary aim for Rabbit Awareness Week is to educate owners on responsible rabbit ownership, such as registering with a vet for vaccinations, and improve the wellbeing of Britain’s third most popular pet.” Please contact us on 01642 488777 to arrange your free rabbit health check.
