Sarah Roger DPhil Queen’s College Sarah is working on a D.Phil in European Literature, focusing her studies on twentieth century Latin American literature. Her dissertation is titled “Borges and His Precursors: an Examination of Franz Kafka’s Authorial Influence on Jorge Luis Borges”. She presented a preliminary draft of her research at the Spanish Sub-Faculty’s Graduate Seminar in March 2007. Prior to the D.Phil, Sarah earned an M.Phil. at Oxford, and she wrote about the concept of redemption in selected works by Borges. As an undergraduate, Sarah attended Canada’s McMaster University, where she received a combined degree studying Arts and Sciences (Hon. B.Arts.Sc.). Sarah’s graduate studies are funded by a Clarendon Bursary and a Queen’s College Studentship.
