HD CompactLine series : the right compact tandem roller for every scenario DV+ series tandem rollers: the asphalt professionals with vision With the two tandem rollers, the DV+ 70i and DV+ 90i, Hamm is setting new milestones in the asphalt compaction sector. These rollers will be shown for the first time at a European exhibition. The large, fully glazed panoramic cabin in the 7 t and 9 t pivotsteered models ensures optimum visibility for the driver: The construction site, the drum edges and the edge pressure and cutting equipment are visible at all times from the driver’s seat. What’s more, the viewing panes in the cab floor ensure an unobstructed view of the roller drums. With their advanced engines (DV+ 90i: 75 kW, Tier 4i / EU IIIB and DV+ 70i: 54.6 kW, Tier 4f / EU IIIB) and highly effective diesel particulate filters (DPFs), both models satisfy the stringent exhaust gas requirements of the most restrictive markets in Europe and North America. Due to their even, constant weight distribution, standard split vibratory drums, pivot steering and automatic transmission for gentle acceleration and braking, they produce top-quality asphalt layers – even in tight curves. The large water and diesel tanks enable high productivity over long operating intervals. The filling process is very simple especially with the new, safe and very fast water filling system that works from underneath via a pressurised supply as standard equipment. A new dimension in ergonomic design and ease of use: the Easy Drive operating concept Hamm has developed a new operating concept for its rollers: Easy Drive. This system aids the driver with self-explanatory, logical user guidance. The main components are a Page 2 of 8 clear control panel with steering wheel and a multifunctional armrest with joystick and buttons. The main functions are accessed in this manner. The Easy Drive system includes a fully adjustable seat. The seat and console can both be perfectly positioned with the control panel, enabling drivers of all heights to find an ergonomic sitting position. In the standard version, the driver’s seat may be swivelled by 90° in either direction. "Visitors to the show can personally try out the complete system in the machines as well as in a separate simulator and experience just how comfortable the DV+ is for the operator", explained Marketing Director Gottfried Beer. The Easy Drive operating concept and the DV+ series both received the iF design award 2015 for excellent product design in the "Automobiles / Vehicles / Bikes" category. This internationally renowned design prize takes into account a number of aspects including the degree of innovation, selection of materials, functionality and ergonomics. H CompactLine series machines: ideal even where space is tight For earthworks, Hamm is presenting two new developments in Paris: the extremely compact H 5i (4.5 t) and H 7i (8 t) machines. They are the latest addition to the successful CompactLine for earthworks applications. This newly developed series satisfies the requirements of a compact machine in all areas by a wide margin. All of the units are driven by a Kubota engine with 54.6 kW power (Tier 4f / EU IIIB). The traction drive is entirely new: the wheels are no longer driven via a rear axle, but via wheel motors. A special drive system delivers the torque to the front or rear axle, as required. This system gives the compactors exceptional climbing capacity along with outstanding ground clearance. The machines are also remarkably short, especially the H 7i: Measuring in at approx. 4.40 m, it is the world's shortest compactor in this weight class. By combining a compact design with a three-point swivel joint and short wheelbase, it ensures good driving and handling characteristics. This makes the Page 3 of 8 compactors ideal for cramped work sites and ensures reliable compaction even in challenging terrain. A number of options and varieties are available for the two compact machines such as the Motor Stop System to reduce fuel consumption, an air conditioner, a telematics interface, an electronic battery cut-off switch and cost-effective LED lighting. For the roller drums, there is a choice between smooth drums or padfoot drums. The two-piece padfoot drums are also new. A VIO drum, capable of compacting with either vibration or oscillation, will also be available for the H 7i. Like all Hamm machines, the compact rollers are extremely simple to operate with ergonomically optimised working positions that ensure outstanding visibility. Every manual operation perfectly matches the arrangement of the controls and the layout of the driver’s cab. In addition, drivers can easily adjust the seat to their own weight and size. New in the class up to 18 t: GRW 180i rubber-wheeled rollers Just in time for Intermat, Hamm is also extending its line of rubber-wheeled rollers with two machines of a new type: the GRW 180i. Their dimensions, technology and all options are identical to the GRW 280i. The difference is in the engine: The new machines use a 3.6 litre turbo-diesel engine from Deutz with a DOC system. It produces 55.4 kW and is below the limits for Tier 4f / EU IIIB. The two new machines are the GRW 180i-10 (10 t basic weight) and the GRW 180i12H (12 t basic weight). Both models can be ballasted up to 18 t and perfectly satisfy the requirements of most asphalt-paving work. Page 4 of 8 Modern classics: HD+ series articulated tandem rollers The HD+ series of articulated tandem rollers from Hamm ‒ with 46 models ranging from 7 to 14 t ‒ continues to dominate the market in asphalt-paving. In Paris, Hamm is showing the HD+ 110i VO (10 t, 1.68 m roller drum width), a model with a vibratory and oscillating drum each, and the HD+ 140i VV (13 t, 2.14 m roller drum width), a roller with double vibration. Both of these machines, as well as all other models in this series, are very popular in the market because they allow economical compaction with high productivity, good climbing capacity, excellent visibility and top user-friendliness. New H series compactors: specialised for rental use The H series from Hamm represents an enormous range of machines for the earthworks sector. The "x" machines are the latest addition. They feature just the right configuration to satisfy the requirements for rental machines. The 13 t model H 13ix will be shown in Paris, and there is also a corresponding 11 t model, the H 11ix. Both machines are available with a cab or a ROPS protective roof. They use an 85 kW engine (Tier 4i / EU IIIB) with a low-maintenance DOC exhaust gas purification system. Representing the 16 other models in the H series, Hamm is bringing along the H 20i on its trip to Paris. This model is equipped with the HCQ Navigator documentation system for comprehensive compaction control. This sophisticated tool ensures uniform compaction with complete layer-by-layer documentation. HD CompactLine series: the right compact tandem roller for every scenario The tandem rollers in the HD CompactLine series are a mainstay of Hamm's product line and have been adapted and extended over the years. The machines are extremely easy to operate with a very clear layout. They are available with vibratory or oscillating drums and as a combination roller or rubber-wheeled roller. The 16 models with Page 5 of 8 weights from 1.8 to 5.3 t feature roller drum widths from 80 to 140 cm. They are proven all-rounders for asphalt-paving and landscaping. Along with various compaction options, Hamm offers a number of extensions for the HD CompactLine such as lighting of the drum edges, a ROPS cab and chip spreaders for the larger models. It goes without saying that Hamm has the right compact tandem roller for every work scenario. -------Picture captions Hamm_01_DV+ Thanks to the split vibratory drums in the DV+ series, these rollers are genuine curve specialists that can satisfy even the most stringent quality requirements.
