Complete the following questions about the site, providing as much information
as possible. You will compare this site to the others presented to you.
1. Describe the design of the homepage including the colours, icons,
advertising, font, headings, ease of navigation, information presented, use
of photographs or other images. Is the website in the form of a
newspaper?
2. What specific information defines this audience?
3. List the links included on the homepage. These may include a list of the
latest articles, news reports, links to blogs, photographs, advertisements,
images, logos, local news, national news, international news, sport,
‘What’s on’, editorials, film reviews or book reviews. What are the most
common text types used in the newspaper.
4. Click on some of the link icons and scroll through the information
provided. Select four different icons from either the homepage or another
page of the website including a news icon. Follow the four icon links. Write
a brief outline (25 - 50 words) of each link, describing the content.
5. What is the leading news article? Write a brief outline.
