The horse/horses you wish to acquire from Collin County Animal Services were taken in a seizure and came
into our custody through a judgment wherein it was determined that they had been abused/neglected. CCAS
wants to make certain that these horses never go back into a similar situation. We are therefore requiring that
interested parties sign this statement which determines the care that must be provided to these horses while in
your custody.
By signing below you are stating that you will provide each horse with good quality hay in an amount
determined by their optimal weight and activity level. All horses must maintain weight and condition as
described by the Henneke Scoring System between Moderate (5) and Fleshy (7). You will provide a source of
clean water at all times. You will provide adequate and safe fencing and shelter for each horse. You will
provide all vaccinations, hoof care, dental care, and deworming as is customary and usual in your geographical
location and determined necessary by your veterinarian. Cuts, sores and illnesses which normal animal
husbandry practices would require veterinarian care must be attended to immediately by a licensed veterinarian.
CCAS strongly suggests that all stallions should be gelded as soon as possible.
CCAS realizes that many of these horses will be adopted out by the rescue groups that acquire them. We
encourage you to have similar adoption guidelines, requirements and monitoring processes to ensure that these
horses will always be well cared for.
By signing below you agree to the requirements listed above and understand that if these requirements are not
met that you will be subject to charges being filed against you by CCAS.

These horses have not been seen by a veterinarian except for a very general site evaluation to determine body
condition and to draw blood for their coggins tests. Many of the horses have not been handled and their age has
not been determined. CCAS makes no claim as to the linage, age, health, or condition of any of the horses.
The only documentation that will be provided by CCAS is a negative coggins certificate on each horse.
