INC: Student has not completed all the given requirements at this time.
Assignments missed while absent will be recorded with the symbol “Ab” and not count toward their grade.
Students have a minimum of 2 days for each day absent to submit missed work for credit.
Should a student become ineligible they are guaranteed the opportunity in each class to raise their grade to become eligible in the
following week.
Student Evaluation:
The student's quarter grade will be determined by performance on outcome assessments (50%) and daily work, which consists of
homework, in class exercises, quizzes, projects, daily preparation/participation points, etc. (50%). The semester grade will be
determined by adding total points from the beginning of the semester to the end of the semester (excluding the Semester Final
Exam which is 10% of the semester grade).
Requirements:
1. Bring your pen, notebook with paper, and planner to class daily.
2. All work must be done in pen. If using notebook paper remove frayed edges. Work that is typed must be double spaced, 10
or 12 point type, in an easily read font. Put your first and last name on everything you turn in to me.
3. If you have to leave class to get forgotten materials or an admit slip, you will be counted tardy. Take care of personal business
between classes—we don’t have time for you to be gone.
4. In order to receive your make-up work after being absent, you must show me your excused admit slip. I will not take up
valuable class time to explain what you have missed--you must take the responsibility to arrange to see me before or after school.
5. Homework is due when it is due. No grade will be given for daily homework that is late (with the exception of excused
absences).
6. Weekly response papers are the crux of this class. If the student fails to turn in more than one response paper in a quarter, this
student will be required to make up this work (with no credit) to get back into the class. If you don't plan to pass, don't waste
anyone's time.
7. Plagiarism is using the words or ideas of another as one’s own. All work, unless otherwise specified is to be your own.
Anytime another’s words or ideas are used you have a responsibility to document that. Plagiarism or cheating will not be
tolerated.
Behavior Plan:
Adhere to all rules and policies as described in the 09-10PLHS Student & Parent Handbook.
