Although in failing health for several years he was able to be around until recently. Mr Wilkin was born in Cumberland County, Eng. With his parents he came to New Brunswick in 1853 (sic) when very young and had since resided in Thomaston. He was well known in the community and surrounding districts. Copied from newspaper obituary - undated -George Smith Harvey, Feb 10 -- Stricken on Wednesday afternoon with a severe heart attack, George Smith, of Harvey, passed away at his home about seven o'clock of the same day. He was a son of the late Alexander and Mary Smith and is survived by four daughters and three sons. They are Edward, Ella and Edith, of Portland, Maine; Harry, of McAdam, also Mrs Godkin, Fred and Nellie, at home. Four grandchildren also survive. The funeral was held from his home on Friday afternoon. All his children were present. Mr. H. Galbraith, of Saint John, conducted the funeral service. Interment was made in the Harvey cemetery.
