Cool Kids Read! CCS Summer Reading Club *Voluntary for ALL students entering K-5 through 6th grade* Our elementary summer reading program is a voluntary approach to develop a love for reading in your child and to maintain the current level of skills that your child has worked to achieve during the school year. Every child that participates will receive a certificate. Incentives will also be earned based on how many pages are read. We hope that you have a wonderful summer and take time to read many books for pleasure because “Books are Good Company.” If your child would like to take part, please follow the instructions below: 1. Read books that are appropriate for your reading level. 2. Students may read books on their own, read them aloud to someone, or have a parent read to them. 3. Keep a record of the books you read on the CCS Summer Reading Club Log. When reading the Bible, the pages will count DOUBLE. 4. All forms are due to your teacher on the first day of school. Everyone Can Win! Every student that participates will receive a certificate. K-5 through 2nd Grade Rewards Bronze Medal: earned by reading at least 150 pages. For example, one Dr. Seuss book has on average 50 pages. Read this type of book 3 times, and you receive a bronze medal.
