FOOD VENDORS of any type are required to have a Temporary Food Service Permit from the Framingham Board of Health, and comply with the Festival’s Recycling/Composting Policy detailed below. TEMPORARY FOOD SERVICE PERMITS are the responsibility of the vendor, and must be applied for through the Board of Health. This permit is required even if you already have a general food service permit and even if the food is prepackaged. The application can take up to two weeks so apply early! There is a $20 fee and other required documentation. This permit must be displayed at the event in order to serve food! The BoH does come to the event to make sure everyone is in compliance! The permit application and procedural info is available online at http://www.framinghamma.gov/index.aspx?NID=289. For questions, please contact the Board of Health directly at: 508-532-5470 Our RECYCLING/COMPOSTING POLICY is an effort to make this a zero waste event. 1. All consumables provided at the festival must be served on either recyclable or compostable products. Plastics must be recyclable or compostable, any paper items must be UNCOATED (to be composted). In general, plastic utensils are not recyclable, however we are checking to see if we can get them collected. If not, you will need to use compostable utensils, and we will order them for you. All paper products are not compostable either, so If you have any questions about whether your products meet our requirements, contact Donna Kramer Merritt at FraminghamEarthDay@gmail.com as sooon as possible. We will help you make sure you are compliant. **If on the day of the event you use a product that does not meet our requirements, then you will be required to collect and remove those products yourself at your booth. 2. The sale of bottled water is prohibited. 3. Food vendors must agree to stop selling food by 2:20pm to allow for composting and recycling to be completed before the end of the event at 3:00 pm. 4. All vendors are responsible for cleaning up their own area at the close of the event, and removing all trash that can’t be recycled or composted. All cardboard must be broken down to be recycled. THANK YOU!! We look forward to celebrating the Earth with you on April 27th!
