The Transformation of CHIN-ANG Pharmaceutical Limited Liability Company
The founder of CHIN-ANG Pharmaceutical Ltd. is the famous Chinese herb doctor WU
DA-HAI, specializing in gynecology and ophthalmology. His medical skills were so
excellent that he helped a lot of patients and got very good reputation. Also being
kind-hearted, Dr. WU often gave medication free to the poor and donated money to those in
need. Later he descended the managing of the company to his eldest son Wu YU-HSIN
while he concentrated on disseminating the Buddhist doctrines, building temples, and doing
volunteer medical consultation.
Dr. WU, as the standing member of the CHIAYI County Chinese Herb Doctors’ Union,
felt the inconvenience of Chinese herb in boiling and carrying as well as taking, so he sought
the instant, easy-to-take, and effective substitute to benefit more people by suggesting the
union to hire experts, scholars, technicians, etc. to improve the union members’ techniques
and knowledge in making Chinese traditional medicine. That also contributed to the setup
of the scientific condensed Chinese medicine company.
To realize Dr. Wu’s ambition, CHIN-ANG Pharmaceutical Ltd started planning the
business in making scientific condensed Chinese medicine. The company recruited people
with specialty, purchased machinery, invited experts and scholars to direct, bought pure
medicinal materials to try and make, and applied for permits of the medicine. The products
didn’t go into market until January, 1980. To try for the best, CHIN-ANG passed the G.M.P
software regulations in March, 1987 with the guidance of the authority concerned. The new
G.M.P. factory was built in June of the same year according to the policy of the government.
In September, 1988, the CHIA-YI County government approved the license no. 082 for the
new factory to go into business and in December of the same year, CHIN-ANG was formally
approved to be the G.M.P. practicing factory by the group of promoting excellent medicine
production in the Ministry of Economics.
The president Wu YU-HSIN says, “We adhere to the enterprising principle of serving
people to study and develop more excellent and effective Chinese medicine to help people
gain health and to contribute to the Chinese medication field.”
The general manager Wu JUNG-TAI says, “The aim of our company is to concentrate
on studying and promoting quality of the Chinese medicine.”

formally building the new G.M.P. factory
1988---in September, the new G.M.P. factory completed, in December, approved to be G.M.P.
practicing factory by the group of promoting excellent medicine production in the
Ministry
of Economics
