Rutgers University, Institute of Marine and Coastal Sciences,
New Brunswick, NJ
Research Assistant (1998-Present)
 Surveyed beach at Sandy Hook Unit of Gateway National Recreation Area
with Sokkia total station Set3B and SDR 33. Responsible for the derivation
of beach profile, beach volume, and cross sectional areas and analysis
including determination of sediment budget.
 Surveyed beach at Fire Island National Seashore with Sokkia total station
Set 3B and SDR 33. Processed data as part of an independent research
project. Compiled the beach profile, volume, and cross sectional area and
created a digital terrain model using GIS and Arcview 3D spatial analyst.
Presented report to NJ Academy of Sciences.
 Gathered and processed sediment samples in the lab from Island Beach
State Park, NJ and Sandy Hook GNRA and applied statistical
approximations to determine distributions of sediment characteristics.
 Assisted in deployment and maintenance of World Ocean Systems nutrient
analyzer in Barnegat Inlet, NJ.
 Co-authored presentation on “Sediment/Form Assemblages in Beach/Dune
Profiles on a Lobate Shoreline, Island Beach State Park, New Jersey.”
