Lesson 7 : The consonants /f/ /v/ and /w/: FEW VIEW WINE
A) The consonant /f/
The top teeth are close to the bottom lip. There’s no voice from the throat and you can feel
air on your hand when you say it.
Examples: leaf, free, coffee, fly, knife
Frank found four frogs laughing on the floor.vote, twelve, river, wave
B) The consonant sound /v/
With the sound /v/ there’s voice from the throat.
Examples: very, vote, twelve, river, wave
Valene drove to the valley in a van.
C) The consonant sound /w/
For this sound , move the lips forward and relax them.
Examples: way , wet, want, west, win
Wanda went away twice a week.
Exercise 1: How many /f/ /v/ and /w/ are in the following numbers?
Example: 55 = fifty five 3 /f/ and 1/v/
