Thank you to all the parents who came to the Title I Parent Orientation meeting this past Wednesday. I hope you found

Kindergarten Update
We are hard at work learning the alphabet so far we have introduced the letters Tt, Ff, Bb, Nn
and Mm. A great idea would be: post the letter pictures on your refrigerator so the children can
see them every time they go in the kitchen. Please see the attached at home games…

This week we continued our work on
CVC (consonant, vowel, consonant)
words. The children are struggling
with hearing the difference between
the short vowel sounds. We also
worked on writing ‘good’ sentences
with correct capitalization,
punctuation and spacing. Please see

Consonant blends and digraphs
continued to be our focus. Ask your
child if they can tell you the difference
between a blend and a digraph.
Blends – are two or more consonants
together that keep their own sound. (sl,
st, str, cr tr, gr, pl, bl, fl, fr, etc. )
Digraphs – are two consonants together
that make a new sound. (ch, th, wh, ck
and sh)
