CONVERSATIONAL CHARACTERS, Fuji Xerox Palo Alto Labs Palo Alto, CA Intern/Developer. Worked on a project to create a computer-generated character which humans can interact with naturally. Wrote a software component to track a person or people using a single overhead camera, and built a device to remotely track head orientation using a small electronic compass. Spent summer of 1994 in community service program in British Virgin Islands, building a home, working with a deaf/mute resident, and assisting a local farmer. During college, did at least one day of community service per semester, including work at a food kitchen, construction of a playground, and providing help at charity functions.
