tight (but not overtight). c.ham on Genoa 4”, 8”
for set of waves, max ease of 18” if very wind
and big waves. Otherwise pinch to depower. Use
barber hauler in any leeway conditions.
Genoa leads – when overtrimmed to shroud base
look for 2” off at spreader, more if waves.
Result – Almost neutral helm with wide groove.
NOT WINDY:
Soft genoa halyard. Backstay buckles loose.
Driver forward of traveler!
Boom centered, lots of return as long as moving
and waves not too bad.
Genoa 2”off spreader tip, 4” for waves of footing
Genoa leads – when overtrimmed to chainplates
should be touching spreader tip
Top leech telltale streaming no more than 10%
Result – Neutral helm if light, pushing helm if
medium
Don’t overstand the layline! This thing goes
slower when you foot! Footing is only to get the
keel flow attached.
