Maycom AR-108 – set-up.
To select frequency range.

Switch on
Press WR/AI &hold until band setting is displayed.
If display shows ‘vhf band’ (looks like ‘uhf band) OK, if display shows ‘airband’,press WR/AI
again to change to UHF.
To set tuning step.
1 Press ST/LOCK. Display will show current step setting.
2. Press or  to change step to required value (.0125 to set standard MSA frequency)
3 Press ST/LOCK
To program memory
1 Press MR. (‘MR’ be shown at right hand side of display) If all memory locations are empty,
display will now show a series of dashes. If a previously stored frequency is displayed, press  or 
to move to the first empty memory location. (Current memory location number is displayed under
‘MR’)
2 Press FUNC+; display will now show a frequency with the second digit flashing.
4. Press  or  to set second digit to the correct value.
5. Press FUNC+ to move to the third digit
6. Press  or  to set third digit to the correct value
7. Repeat 5 & 6 to set the remaining digits (Note: when the cursor is moved to the fifth digit, pressing
 or  will change the last three digits in increments equal to the step setting)
8. When the correct value has been entered (to correct any mistakes, press F+ or  to select the
required digit) press MR/MW. The frequency is now stored in memory.
To use a preset frequency.
When switched on the scanner should default to the last used frequency. If it doesn’t, press MR/MW &
then press  or  to select the required memory location
Lock function
To lock the scanner at its current setting, press FUNC+ST/LOCK – to unlock, repeat.
To set Power Saving
1 Switch off
2 Hold down FUNC & switch on. The display will now show power saving status.
3 Press  or  to toggle between power saving on & off.
4 Switch off. New power saving setting will take effect next time the scanner is switched on
