What is the Athletic Leadership Council?
In an effort to foster leadership among Londonderry High School’s student athletes, an Athletic Leadership Council has been formed comprised of athletes representing varsity level sports, coaches and administrators.
Student members will represent their teams as well as the athletics as a whole. The
ALC serves as an advisory group to the Athletic Director and Principal of
Londonderry High School. Student members will be nominated by coaches, other athletes and administrative members of the ALC. Members will also be responsible for communicating and reporting on events and topics surrounding their own athletic teams and those of their JV counterparts.
The goals of the Londonderry High School Athletic Leadership Council are to:
 continue to foster leadership qualities that exist within our student athletes
 advise the Athletic Director monthly
 reinforce pride amongst our athletic student body
 allow for participation in active decision making amongst the athletic department
 communicate the incentives of being relied upon and respected by when possessing leadership attributes
 provide an environment suitable for expression and discussion of topics surrounding our athletic environment
Council Membership Criteria:
 Teams will represent 4-5 members, the coach will then choose a representative who will then be chosen and inducted by the council
 Each Member serves a one year term
 Membership can be renewed each year
 A student can be chosen for more than one sport
 Where possible coaches should select from the senior and junior classes.
Freshman and sophomores can be chosen however juniors and seniors are given priority.
 Members should attend each meeting
 If a member misses two meetings they will be dismissed from the council and the coach will be asked to choose another member of the team for the council.

 It is a privilege to serve on the ALC. Members must be role models for their teammates at all times to remain on the Council.

 Feedback and suggestions from athletes
 Discussion concerning upcoming events o Varsity Banquet o Fundraisers o Coaches Night
