Dear Parent/guardian,
As part of our personal, social and health education programme, from Tuesday
30th June, we will be covering sex education in Year 6.
We watch three 20 minute videos from a recommended Channel 4 educational DVD
sensitively aimed at 10 to 11 year olds. We then discuss the facts and issues that arise from
the programmes.
The children have the opportunity to ask questions but we also put out a question box where
children are able to anonymously ask questions, which we feel is appropriate for their age
group and the year 6 curriculum.
We also hold a separate question and answer session; where the girls have the opportunity to
discuss any issues with Miss Axton and the boys have the opportunity to do the same with
Mr. Bull.
If you wish your children to abstain from sessions please fill in the form below.
On Monday 29th June you have the opportunity to view the materials in room 8 (Mr. Bull’s
room) at 3:20pm, if you wish.
