Commonwealth Scholarship Conditions In order to receive payments of your Commonwealth Scholarship (CS) you must continue to accept the conditions outlined below. These conditions apply to the following scholarships: Commonwealth Accommodation Scholarship (CAS) Commonwealth Education Costs Scholarship (CECS) Indigenous Access Scholarship (IAS) Indigenous Commonwealth Accommodation Scholarship (ICAS) Commonwealth Education Costs Scholarship (ICECS) National Priority Scholarship (NPS) National Accommodation Scholarship (NAS) It is a condition of the CS that you accept the scholarship conditions, and satisfy the eligibility requirements as outlined in Section 2.10 of the Commonwealth Guidelines each semester. In accepting these conditions, you also consent to the disclosure of your name, address and scholarship type to the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) for the purposes of administering the CS program. If you do not consent, you must decline these conditions and contact the Equity Section on 3138 5582 to discuss transferring your scholarship to a QUT Equity Scholarship. The Commonwealth Scholarships Guidelines (Education) 2010 were registered on the Federal Register of Legislative Instruments (FRLI) F2010L00696 on 17 March 2010 and an amendment was registered on 2 July 2010. The guidelines and a copy of the amendments are available on the Attorney-General's Department website. Whilst your eligibility will be checked by QUT, you are responsible for ensuring your enrolment meets the minimum eligibility requirements. If your enrolment or situation changes, you are required to notify the Equity Section via equityscholarships@qut.edu.au. You must be eligible as at the Census date each semester. At QUT, this is Friday in week 4 in semester 1 and 2. Your eligibility will be checked after this date, and payments processed shortly thereafter. Payments are generally made in week 8. You will also be required to supply information regarding your circumstances at the beginning of each semester. You will be sent an email directing you to QUT Virtual messages which will enable you to respond to one or two questions (depending on your scholarship type). If you do not respond within the specified time frame, your scholarship may be terminated. You will not be paid until you respond. You will be asked about: your financial situation - if your situation improves significantly from that shown on your initial application (for example, an inheritance), and you are no longer experiencing financial hardship, you will no longer be eligible for a CS. your living arrangements - if you are getting free accommodation during the semester or you return to live permanently in the place you moved from, you will no longer be eligible for a Commonwealth Accommodation Scholarship (CAS) or a National Accommodation Scholarship (NAS). We are also obliged to inform you that if you provide false or misleading information in relation to your CS, QUT must immediately: reassess your entitlement to a CS; and notify the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) of the suspected offence and provide a copy of your application and any other relevant information requested by DEEWR.
