Critical Functions:
Pace Library
1.
Systems Division: a.
Plan, develop, implement, and maintain all mission critical library systems
[INNOPAC, ILLIAD, SFX, WebFeat, ERES, INGENTA/INFOTRIEVE,
SYNDETICS, etc.] b.
Ensure effective integration of information transfers, processing, storage, and access across a complex platform and database environment. c.
Administer remote access operation [Obvia’s RDA server] d.
Collaborate with the Web Management Team develop and maintain premier quality web site e.
Perform systems analysis, programming support, and technical expertise for management of Library’s technological infrastructure f.
Supervise all aspects of library desktop computing operations for 3 Pace libraries. g.
Monitor systems growth and requirements; recommend systems enhancements and extensions and migration timetables h.
Perform requisite testing and debugging i.
Serve as Library’s principal liaison with DOIT with respect to network administration issues
2.
Access Services: a.
Register Pace Library borrowers via INNOPAC. b.
Perform variety of automated circulation functions [charge/discharge, renewals, holds, blocks, reserve loans, overdues] c.
Maintain and distribute all types of library materials [books, periodicals, course reserves, videos, etc.] d.
Process intra-system loans in accordance with “floating collection” policy. e.
Handle financial transactions and clear borrowers in ISIS. f.
Communicate with faculty regarding placement of materials on reserve g.
Create E-reserves [scan in documents and upload to server] h.
Process ILL/Document Delivery requests i.
Manage photocopying and reader/printer equipment j.
Organize shelving carts and supervise stack maintenance

Research & Information Services: a.
Perform comprehensive reference, research assistance & referral services b.
Perform in-person, telephone, e-mail, and chat reference services. c.
Identify, locate, and interpret sources of information, irrespective of format. d.
Provide database search assistance e.
Provide reference desk coverage evenings and weekends and staff satellite operation at Graduate Center in White Plains. f.
Provide technical support for effective use of information technology.
g.
Develop, implement, and evaluate library resources and services for distance learners. h.
Serve as research consultants for Blackboard Forums. i.
Evaluate and select print and digital materials for collection. j.
Perform Web content development functions. k.
Perform variety of outreach functions [Faculty Liaison Committee, student orientation sessions, Friends of the Library, etc.].
4.
Instructional Services: a.
Manage the electronic classroom b.
Schedule and conduct library instruction for all University 100 and
English 101/102 classes. c.
Execute information literacy mandate of the revised core curriculum. d.
Conduct course-integrated instruction for all subject disciplines. e.
Develop web-based tutorials, database and subject guides. f.
Collaborate with C.T.L.T on faculty development initiatives. g.
Perform learning outcomes assessment. h.
Evaluate and select print and digital materials for collection. i.
Perform Web content development functions j.
Conduct thematic workshops, on-the-road presentations, and student orientations sessions. k.
Perform staff training and development.
5.
Technical Services: a.
Handle materials procurement and funds disbursement [select vendors, place electronic orders, inspect merchandise, handle returns, process invoices for payment] b.
Transmit electronic orders and administer outsourcing arrangement with
Yankee Book Peddler for cataloging and shelf-ready processing. c.
Perform in-house online cataloging operations [original & complex adaptive cataloguing, authority control, and bibliographic maintenance functions] d.
Design appropriate metadata schema to facilitate access to electronic resources and other collections e.
Perform automated serials check-in and technical processing functions and prepare materials for bindery.
