Health & Safety when working with glass
1. Wear appropriate footwear.
2. Wear an apron.
3. Always wear gloves and goggles when cutting glass.
4. Wear goggles when adding colour/ inclusions onto glass.
5. Don’t talk when cutting glass. Shards might end up in your
mouth.
6. Keep your work area clear of shards of glass to keep risks
of cutting yourself to a minimum.
7. Don’t sweep glass aside using your hands, even when
wearing gloves – use a dustpan and brush.
8. When using coloured glass powders don’t blow on them –
use a brush to clear away excess powder.
9. Be careful when disposing of glass. All scrap glass must
be put into the Glass Bin.
