Cambridge Combined Diabetic Foot Course British Racing School Conference Centre, Newmarket 20th June 2014 One-day Basics course The course is designed for all specialties with an interest in diabetic foot care. Established in 1999 the Cambridge Diabetic Foot Team has proved highly successful in the effective management of diabetic foot complications including ulcers, vascular complications and Charcot arthropathy. This one-day, multidisciplinary course is aimed at Consultants and Specialist Registrars in diabetes, acute medicine, A&E, vascular surgery, orthopaedics, specialist nurses and podiatrists. Awarded 6 CPD points by the Royal College of Physicians. Learning objectives Overview of diabetic foot care The multidisciplinary set up and running of the foot team How to meet the national guidelines The role of diabetic podiatrists and specialist nurses Medical management in diabetes with complications Orthopaedic surgical management Vascular intervention and surgery Hands-on teaching with workshops in assessment, orthotics and casting Venue The unique setting of the British Racing School provides the venue.
