We need your baby photos for graduation powerpoint! Please turn them in to yearbook staff or to Mrs. Quam by May 11 th !

We need 2 speeches at Graduation – 1 Greeting and 1 Farewell speech.

If YOU would like to be the one to give the speech, now is the time to write it and turn it in to Dannette by 3 p.m., Friday, May 18 th . A committee will then choose the speakers from those submitted.

PLEASE let Dannette know by 3 p.m., May 11 received any scholarships or awards.

Cost is $125. Payments will be accepted to reserve of $25 and paid in full by the end of May. Call Donna Johnson at (360)-710-4010 to make other payment arrangements.

ARE YOU GOING TO PROM THIS SATURDAY?

Remember you MUST:

*Have your prom tickets

*Have Photo ID with DOB or school ID card

*All masks must be removable upon request

* Please read the back of your ticket for dance policies

If you do not have these two things you will NOT be allowed on base.

LOCAL SCHOLARSHIPS

POMONA GRANGE SCHOLARSHIP

Deadline: May 4, 2012 Amount: $500.00

Applicants must plan to attend an accredited college or vocational school next fall.

Preference will be given to students affiliated with a grange, either through their own membership or that of a parent or grandparent or to those who have had 4-H or FFA

(Future Farmers of America) experience. It is not necessary to have those affiliations to apply: all applicants will be considered fairly. Applications are available in the counseling office.

ED AMICK SCHOLARSHIP

Deadline: May 4, 2012

Amount: $300 Application & Official Transcript

Criteria: Senior wrestler graduating from NMHS who has satisfactorily completed the past wrestling season, including meeting the attendance requirement for a letter, and who has a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0 out of a possible 4.0. A wrestling season prior to the past season may be substituted in the event that injury, illness or family emergency made it impossible for the applicant to complete their senior season. Must have been accepted to an accredited college or vocational institute.

HARSTINE ISLAND THEATRE CLUB

Deadline: August 1, 2012 Amount: $500

Applicants must be high school graduates who are residents of Mason County, enrolled in an accredited university, college or school of theater arts with full class load with emphasis in theater arts or related areas such as acting, dance, music, playwriting, technical lighting and sound, directing or stage design. Applications are available in the

Counseling Office.

ABBOT AND FENNER BUSINESS CONSULTANTS SCHOLARSHIP

Deadline: June 15, 2012 $1,000

The A&F Scholarships are available to high school juniors and seniors as well as all students currently registered in any accredited post secondary institution. To apply for this scholarship you will need to write an essay on one of two topics. Applicants must have enrolled in at least 360 hours of career and technical course work and have maintained a 3.0 GPA in their career and technical classes throughout their high school program.
