Village of Kirkland Ordinance Committee Meeting April 28th 2008 The meeting was called to order at 5:30 pm. Those in attendance were Steve Boettger and Carol Stiegman. The purpose of this meeting was to discuss changes to the Peddlers License, Junk Yards, and come up with an ordinance to cover Pods and Shipping containers. The committee would recommend the peddler license should include a health inspection for food products and that the Kirkland PD should do back ground checks and have finger prints on file on all applicants. The Village should then give the applicant a photo ID provided by the PD all at a cost of $200.00 per year. We looked at the ordinance for junk yards and we agree that the ordinance on the books is good enough to cover all junk and cars sitting around in any residence’s yard in the village. We feel that the attorney should be directed to come up with an ordinance to cover pods and shipping containers. We feel that they should not be left on any property for more than 90 days without board approval. The meeting was adjourned at 6:05 pm Respectfully submitted, ____________________________ Steve Boettger Committee Chairman
