Integrated Feel-Good Living Worlds:
Villeroy & Boch Launches Its First High-Quality Laminate Flooring Line
Starting immediately, this manufacturer of premium products in the categories of bath
and wellness, kitchen, tableware and tiles is extending its up-market lifestyle portfolio
by a laminate Flooring Line. Villeroy & Boch is thus adding yet another product
category for creating home interiors.
A New Level of Design
Instead of spending long lavish evenings in public restaurants and bars, these days
people are tending to socialise in more private settings: private dinner clubs, cooking
parties in the company of friends and entertaining at home. This is yet another reason
why personal interior design is increasingly providing the stage for activities. To help
people create such an environment, beginning in January 2014 Villeroy & Boch is
offering a range of flooring with a total of 22 different decors arrayed in four
collections. Just like vintage photographs, elegant fruit bowls or perfectly placed
standard lamps, the floor makes a distinctive contribution to any ambience.
Naturally with Personality
“Villeroy & Boch stands for timeless designs which interpret traditional and modern
themes with a truly unique signature. The feat of creating both fashionable designs and
others that have a good chance of still being loved in 15 years is a high art. At Villeroy
& Boch, we develop designs for products for the tabletop, kitchen and bathroom in such
a way that they have timeless validity while also reflecting global trends”, says Kai
Steffan, Villeroy & Boch’s creative director. Villeroy & Boch has been setting
standards of innovative design and top quality for centuries. And this statement now
also applies to the new Villeroy & Boch Flooring Line, which is inspired by the most
beautiful which Nature has to offer: the details of wood grain and stone structure in all
their sublime imperfection. All four collections – Country, Contemporary, Heritage and
Cosmopolitan – share a triad of superlatives: aesthetics, eco-friendliness and
functionality. And this is evident not only in the unique ambience they evoke, but also
with every step one takes on their warm, elastic surfaces, which are robust and easy to
clean into the bargain.
Country: As Lovely As Nature
Some people prefer to spend their time outdoors hiking in the mountains or going for
long walks on the beach. The decors of the Country collection are aimed especially at
them. Knots, breaks and grains conjure up a rustic atmosphere, especially in Castle Oak,
which harmonises especially well with stoneware vases and an antique dining table. It’s
particularly alluring when offset by a modern decorating style, for example in the form
of a bright, shiny countertop.
Contemporary: Elegant Ambience
In the here and now, life can get on one’s nerves with its everyday stresses and
annoyances. Which makes even more important to occasionally relax and let oneself go:
in an elegant interior which is as timeless as grandmother’s pearl necklace or a blackand-white photograph of Steve McQueen. This is achieved especially well by the look
of solid wooden boards, which exude calm and constancy. Take, for instance, the décor
Loft Oak, which is the favourite floor colour of people living in converted lofts in the
United States.
Heritage: Inspired by the Tried and Tested
Stone and wood are an unbeatable combination when it comes to classic floor decors.
That also goes for the Heritage collection. In the decors Travertine Oak and Travertine
Hickory, for example, elegant travertine stone is framed by wood – without ever giving
you cold feet. Equally special are Leaf Oak White and Leaf Oak Brown, which are
based on the original “Switch” décor from Villeroy & Boch. What a great heritage!
Cosmopolitan: Urbane Charm
Those who travel widely know that every land is different. Their favourite destinations
can range from Marrakesh to London or Portofino. And the looks of the Cosmopolitan
collection are just as varied. After all, the best part of travelling is arriving home again
afterwards. And because tastes differ, the offered decors of the Cosmopolitan collection
vary depending on the country.
