Behavioral Science Seward County Community College Area Technical School Students will find many uses for the information they learn in sociology and psychology. The student, along with all of society, serves as his or her own laboratory. Students will be better able to deal with their own feelings and the responses of those around them: friends, employers, and family members. For employment in the professional world of sociology or psychology, a master’s degree is usually the minimum requirement. Top positions in these fields are held by persons with a Ph.D. However, those with a bachelor’s degree find doors open for further training with business, government, or service organizations. This two-year course of study requires the completion of a minimum of 64 credit hours. Advising Your SCCC/ATS behavioral science department adviser will help you plan your courses and will outline the specific requirements for completion of an associate’s degree. You need to contact the Admissions Office to visit the campus and meet with an adviser at the time of your visit. The behavioral science course of study is designed to prepare you for transfer into a university program to complete a bachelor’s degree in education.
