SCHOLARSHIP REMINDERS!

Seniors interested in applying for Tennessee Tech University scholarships for
2014-15 can apply online at www.tntech.edu/scholarships through the TTU
online database, ScholarWeb. One application will qualify you for the 550
scholarships offered by TTU. The application deadline is December 15, 2014.

AXA Achievement Scholarship - $1.3 million available! You could be a winner!

Burger King Scholars Program: Burger King employees, their dependent

Hispanic Scholarship Fund: The application period is open September 1st

Scarlett Family Foundation: The Scarlett Foundation has awarded over $3.2M in
college scholarships to 168 students from middle Tennessee pursing a business
degree. The application window for 2015-16 applicants will be open from

Asian & Pacific Islander American Scholarship Fund (APIASF): The APIASF
General Scholarship application is now available! Apply online at
www.apiasf.org/scholarship_apiasf.html. The application deadline is Friday,
January 9, 2015 at 11:59 pm (EST).

The Ron Brown Scholar Program provides Scholars with the financial resources
to attend some of the finest colleges and universities in the country. Upon
acceptance, Scholars are each awarded $40,000 ($10,000 year for 4 years) that
may be used at the college or university of their choice. Acceptance into the
Program means Scholars are also provided with the nurturing and mentorship to
succeed and flourish in college and beyond. Applications available in the
Counseling Center. The application deadline is January 9, 2015.

Gates Millennium Scholars Program 2015: The Gates Millennium Scholars
(GMS) Program, funded by a grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation,
was established in 1999 to provide outstanding African American, American
Indian/Alaska Native*, Asian Pacific Islander American**, and Hispanic
American students with an opportunity to complete an undergraduate college
education in any discipline are of interest. Apply online at

January 14, 2015 11:59 pm (EST).

Students interested in attending Tennessee Tech University: Now is the time for
high school seniors to apply for Tennessee Tech University scholarships for 201516! The application is available online at www.tntech.edu/scholarships through
TTU’s online database known as ScholarWeb. One application is all that is
needed opt apply for the 550+ scholarships offered by Tennessee Tech
University. Students do not apply for scholarships individually. The application
deadline is January 15, 2015.

Students interested in Western Kentucky University: The Cherry Presidential
Scholarship covers in-state tuition, $4, 090 for on-campus housing, a $2,274
meal allowance, and $1,000 book allowance. Participation in the Honors College
is required. The new admission application deadline is November 15, 2014, for
the Cherry Presidential Scholarship ONLY. The deadline for all other
scholarships will continue to be January 15, 2015.

Ronald McDonald House Charities: RMHC is now broadening the scope of its

Students interested in attending Southern Illinois University Edwardsville –
Applications for the 2015-16 scholarships are available online at
www.siue.edu/alumni/awards. Applications must be submitted or postmarked
by Friday, January 30, 2015. Scholarships can be faxed to 618-650-3694 or
mailed to: SIUE Alumni Association/Attn: “Stahlschmidt Scholarship,” “Legacy


Eli Lily and Co. seeks applications for the 16th annual Lily Reintegration
Scholarship program. The program provides scholarship funding for students
living with bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, schizo-affective disorder, and major
depressive disorder. Scholarships will be awarded for high school equivalency
programs, trade or vocational school programs, associate degrees, bachelor's
degrees, and graduate degrees. For more information, visit

deadline is January 31, 2015.

The USDA/1890 National Scholars Program will provide full tuition,
employment, employment benefits, fees, books, and room and board each year
for up to 4 years to selected students pursuing a bachelor’s degree at one of the
nineteen 1890 Historically Black Land-Grant Institutions. Applications are
available in the Counseling Center, or apply online at

February 1, 2015.

Heritage Bank: The Heritage Bank Scholarship Fund will reach across 29 high
schools throughout Western Kentucky and Tennessee. We will award $500
scholarships based on the number of senior students enrolled. Applications are
available in the Counseling Center. The application deadline is February 9,
2015.


FIRE Free Speech Essay Contest – The Foundation for Individual Rights in
Education is hosting a Free Speech Essay Contest for high school Juniors and
Seniors. To enter, students must submit an essay between 800 and 1,000 words

January 1, 2015.

The American Legion High School Oratorical Scholarship Program: “A
Constitutional Speech Contest”: The purpose of The American Legion High
School Oratorical Scholarship Program is to develop a deeper knowledge and
appreciation of the Constitution of the United States on the part of high school
students. Other objectives of the contest include the development of leadership
qualities, the ability to think and speck clearly and intelligently, and the
preparation for acceptance of the duties and responsibilities, the rights and
privileges of American citizenship. Contest rules and applications available in the


The Princeton Prize in Race Relations – Do you wish everyone would sit at the
same table? The Princeton Prize in Race Relations recognizes students who are
helping improve race relations in their school or community. Winners of the

The application process is open for the 5th annual Cornerstone Scholarship
program, December 1 through February 17, 2015. College-bound high school
seniors at Middle Tennessee public, private and home schools in Davidson,
Dickson, Montgomery, Rutherford, Sumner and Williamson Counties can apply
for $1000 scholarships for the 2015-2016 school year from the Cornerstone
Financial Credit Union $25,000 Fund. PLUS: If you are a Tennessee resident
meeting the other application requirements and your parent or guardian is a

SunTrust Off to College Scholarship Sweepstakes: High school seniors can enter

Students interested in attending Vanderbilt University – Vanderbilt offers three
merit scholarship programs: the Ingram Scholarship Program for students who
plan to combine a professional or business career with an exceptional
commitment to community service, the Cornelius Vanderbilt Scholarship
Program which recognizes the combination of outstanding academic achievement
and strong leadership skills, and the Chancellor’s Scholarship Program for
students who have demonstrated significant interest in issues of diversity
education, tolerance, and social justice. Each award includes full tuition for four
years and a summer stipend for research, study abroad, or service. Apply online

Cracking the ACT: Cracking the ACT is designed to help students understand as
well as prepare for this important exam. The course includes: practice exams,
guided study, logic development, test taking strategies, and study skills. Course
