 Practise this week’s spelling list in a method of your choice
 Read sections/chapters of a book you enjoy – on your own or with a parent
 Practise the words in your ‘Word Buster’
Further Literacy Tasks for the month
 Visit the library and borrow a book that will be useful for our topic “Knights and Castles”
 Choose a character from a book you are reading. Draw the character and prepare a list of
adjectives that describe him / her.
 Read a story to someone in your family. Use a different voice for each character.
 Make up 5 literal questions for a book that you have enjoyed. Teach somebody how to answer
them correctly then let them have a go.

Look at the Personal Learning goals you set at the beginning of the month and plan what you still
need to do to achieve them.
A castle was a home from the past. Can you design a home for the future?
Scotland has many famous castles. Choose a castle to research and present your information in
an interesting way. (You may want to visit a castle nearby)
Create a character for a fairytale. Write as many adjectives as you can to describe them.
Record your family’s electricity meter readings for a week.
Find out ways that your family could reduce the amount of electricity that they use. Present your
idea(s) in a poster.
Visit Whitelee Windfarm and prepare a talk about what you learned.
Research a famous knight and write 5 or more facts about them.
Make up a rap, song or poem to help others keep safe when walking home in the dark.
Make up an activity of your own…
