UNIT 9
Romeo and Juliet is an old love story about a boy and a girl who fall in love
the first time they see each other. Their families have hated each other for a
long time. But that doesn’t stop their love. They get married without their
parents’ knowing. Soon, there is trouble for them. In a big fight, Romeo’s friend
is killed by Juliet’s cousin, and Romeo is so angry that he kills Juliet’s cousin.
Romeo is made to leave where he lives and leave his lover, Juliet. Juliet’s
parents who don’t know that she married Romeo, hope she will marry a man
they have chosen. But Juliet’s only love is Romeo, and she drinks a liquid that
will help her pretend to be dead. But Romeo hears that she is really dead and
he is very sad. He comes to see her and kills himself to die with her. Soon after
he dies, Juliet wakes up and finds out what Romeo did, so she kills herself
because she doesn’t want to live without Romeo. They die together in love.
