COMPANY DESCRIPTION ACIS provides sponsors for intramural programs on 200 colleges & universities nationwide. ACIS Sponsorships enhance existing campus recreation programs by adding extra excitement, funding and valuable student giveaways. Our goal is to provide the optimal experience for participating students while increasing excitement for campus recreation programs, and generating awareness and trial along with a strong positive ROI for the sponsors. By sponsoring ACIS programs, marketers can efficiently reach over 2.5 million 18-to-24 year old college students nationwide. As an ACIS sponsor, a brand has the ability to conduct promotional programs such as product trial through sampling and demonstrations, branded giveaways, and activation events including sweepstakes and contests. Sponsors track the effectiveness of their programs through market research results derived from pre/post and test/control surveys based on sponsor generated questions. ACIS sponsors include such brands as Pontiac, Old Spice, Xbox 360, Philips Norelco, Bic and Wheaties. These sponsors have provided students with free giveaways and the opportunity to win great prizes such as exciting trips, Xbox 360 systems, Philips HDTVs and even brand new Pontiac automobiles. ACIS sponsorship programs currently include ACIS Flag Football and ACIS Basketball. Each sponsorship program features annual regional tournaments and national championship events in which students from all colleges and universities nationwide are invited to participate. For more information about ACIS visit www.acisports.com. POSITION DESCRIPTION The ACIS Campus Rep Marketing Intern will act as an ACIS brand ambassador on their campus. They will assist the ACIS operations team and their school’s ACIS Program Administrator with the implementation of all ACIS events and programs on his/her campus for the spring 2008 ACIS Basketball sponsorship program. Specific requirements and responsibilities will be provided in detailed execution manuals and also via an Internship Training Webinar prior to the start of each program, pending sponsor commitments and corresponding requirements. ACIS Campus Rep Interns will focus on three main objectives throughout the school year. 1. PROMOTIONS AND EVENT MARKETING Apply your creativity and marketing skills learned in the classroom to effectively tailor marketing plans to promote nationally sponsored events and programs on your campus. Examples include: • Awareness Programs: Philips Norelco and Wheaties Player of the Week Programs • Awareness and Lead-Gen Programs: Pontiac Pick Your Performance Machine Sweepstakes Sign-Ups • Product Trial and Demonstrations: Norelco Cool Skin Shaver Product Demonstrations • Product Trial: Jelly Belly Sport Beans Sample Distribution • Awareness and Product Trial Programs: XBOX 360 Lounge promos and tournament coordination • Event Marketing: Basketball Campus Tournaments • Promotion Implementation: Distribution of promotional materials and sponsors’ giveaways and samples • Promotion Implementation: Ensure optimal visibility for sponsor messaging through proper placement of all promotional materials including banners, posters, flyers, and ACIS MediaBoards ads. 2. MARKET RESEARCH • Intercept Surveys: Assist in the collection of student surveys for sponsor analysis. • Focus Groups: Conduct informal focus groups among peers and provide summary to sponsors 3. SPONSOR REPORTING AND POST-PROMOTION ANALYSIS • Photo Documentation: Submit photos of program implementation for use in sponsor recap reports • Implementation Updates: Update online database with the status of program requirements including distribution of sponsor product samples and brochures • Post-Promotion Summary Report: Complete a post-promotion summary report to be shared with ACIS sponsors ACIS Campus Rep Marketing Internship – 2008 1 LEARNING GOALS & OBJECTIVES Due one week prior to program start dates, the intern is required to submit to their ACIS Rep, ACIS Program Administrator a Learning Goals/Objectives. A specific Learning Goals/Objectives format will be provided by ACIS. SPECIAL PROJECT REQUIREMENTS To ensure that ACIS Campus Rep Interns are utilizing all of their marketing skills learned in the classroom, interns are required to complete a minimum of four Special Projects each semester. One Special Project is due every two weeks. A list of approved Special Projects and guidelines will be provided by ACIS via ACIS EasyLink. In addition to the provided list of approved Special Projects, ACIS Campus Reps are encouraged to think beyond those given and come up with their own. Any Special Projects not provided by ACIS must be approved by the intern’s ACIS Representative prior to creation and/or implementation. INTERNSHIP PORTFOLIO AND POWER POINT PRESENTATION At the conclusion of the ACIS Basketball season, ACIS Campus Reps are required to present a portfolio of their work completed during their internship for the 2008 ACIS Basketball season. Portfolios must be reviewed and signed off by the intern’s ACIS Program Administrator. A PowerPoint Presentation must also be sent electronically to the intern’s ACIS Rep at the conclusion of the ACIS Basketball season. A set format, guidelines and requirements for the portfolio and PowerPoint presentation will be provided by ACIS. LENGTH AND HOURS OF INTERNSHIP Length: February 4, 2008 - May 1, 2008. Hours: Average 5-10 hours/week. During special events and tournaments additional hours may be required. (Hours may be adjusted to meet school credit requirements.) BENEFITS AND PAYMENT $300.00 Cash Stipend: Paid within 30 days of the fulfillment of the duties and obligations as stated in the Internship Agreement and the ACIS Sponsorship Agreement. ACIS Campus Rep Intern Kit ( Awarded at beginning of student’s internship) ACIS Apparel: 2 ACIS branded T-shirts ACIS Materials: Binder, pens, and notepads College Credit: Intern is responsible for ensuring college credit requirements are met. ACIS National Tournament Trip: 3 ACIS Campus Rep Interns will be chosen to receive an all expense paid trip to attend and assist the ACIS professional staff at the 2008 ACIS Basketball National Championships. Guidelines for consideration will be provided by ACIS. Featured ACIS Campus Rep Intern of the Month: ACIS Program Administrators will have the opportunity to nominate their ACIS Campus Reps for this award. Nominees will be chosen each month by ACIS based on performance executing ACIS programs and ACIS Program Administrator feedback. Each ACIS Campus Rep Intern of the Month will have their bio, photo, and achievements featured on ACIS’ web site and EasyLink and will receive an ACIS Nike Jacket or Sweatshirt. Other bonuses and incentives may also be added during the course of the internship at the discretion of ACIS. QUALIFICATIONS - College student studying marketing, sports management, business, communications or related field - The ability to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment - Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills - Confidence to share ideas and have the ability to grasp new concepts quickly - The stamina to perform under the high demands of event execution - Minimum 2.5 GPA - Must be enthusiastic, highly organized, self-motivated, be able to demonstrate leadership and problem solving skills, and be passionate about marketing and sports - Able to work some weekends and evenings COLLEGE CREDIT The ACIS Campus Rep Marketing Internship is a standard program implemented on over 100 campuses nationwide.
