CAMP ALLEGHENY MAINTENANCE DIRECTOR JOB DESCRIPTION Title Maintenance Director Responsible To and Employed by: President/CEO of Camp Allegheny Qualifications Possess Christian convictions and growing in their personal Christian faith. At least a High School graduate or equivalent with minimum 5 years maintenance experience. Possess a valid State Operator’s License with a safe driving record. Certification (or ability to achieve) to operate sewage treatment plant and water treatment plant. Social and communication skills to work well with co-workers, contractors, suppliers, guests and general public. Training and/or experience with; general carpentry, plumbing, vehicle maintenance, electrical troubleshooting, painting, operation of tractors, plows and numerous types of hand tools. Willingness to upgrade qualifications as need arises. Good physical condition with the ability to lift and carry 100lbs at least 50ft, climb ladders and physical ability to complete regular maintenance tasks. On site residency preferred but not required. Complete background check including Act 33&34 required. Responsibilities and Essential Functions (illustrative only) Supervise, schedule and coordinate all maintenance operations. Maintain all Camp Allegheny buildings, grounds, vehicles and recreational facilities in good operating condition and in excellent physical appearance. Supervise and manage maintenance staff on a daily basis. Since you at times will come in contact with counselors, volunteers, guests, campers and other staff, it is important that your actions and attitudes are consistent with the principals of Christian love and concern for all persons. Operate the maintenance department within financial budget as provided by the Financial Director. Be knowledgeable and aware of OSHA regulations, Labor and Industry and building inspection requirements and ensure staff and camp operate appropriately under those requirements. Coordinate with housekeeping the duties necessary to serve our guests. Willingness to host retreat groups which includes working occasional weekends. Planning and implementation of maintenance schedule, preventive maintenance plan and project planning. Direct hands on work with maintenance including; carpentry, plumbing, vehicle care, electrical, painting, cement an concrete work, climbing ladders to perform necessary work, basic landscaping and lawn care. Oversee and supervise outside contractors. Supervise care and maintenance of pool pumps, filters and chemical operations. Supervise and Operate Water and Wastewater treatment plants according to DEP standards. Coordinate the use of Volunteers for projects and work teams Amicable and willing to perform any and all duties requested by the President and/or necessary for the function and operations of this ministry. The use of alcohol, illegal drugs or tobacco products is strictly forbidden anywhere on camp property. All employees and persons using and visiting the camp will abide by this policy explicitly. Salary and Benefits Salary The salary is set annually by the President/CEO in consultation with the Personnel committee and Finance Committee. Current Starting Salary is $ 27,500. Retirement Retirement benefits provided for this position as part of the United Methodist Retirement plan. Currently, beginning one year after initial employment an amount equal to12% of cash salary will be deposited into the National United Methodist Retirement plan. Details available upon employment. Subject to change. Health Insurance Health insurance provided for this position, currently with Health America. The plan is a high deductible plan with a combined employer/employee contribution to an HSA. Vacation All vacation time must be coordinated with the Executive Director. 1-5 years 2 weeks 6 -10 years 3 weeks 11+ years 4 weeks Housing Housing is available to the Maintenance Supervisor and immediate family. When provided housing will be free of charge. This includes no charge for the following; rental fee, utilities (except private phone line), basic cable TV and building insurance. No remuneration provided if person chooses not to live on site. Meals Meals may be eaten in the dining hall when the dining hall is in operation. This includes the employee’s immediate family.
