SET-BC’s Provincial Mobile Lab 2007 - 2008 The provincial Mobile Lab provides a useful training tool for SET-BC Consultants. Consultants can book these computers for workshops that focus on assistive technologies in the Loan Bank. The Lab consists of 40 laptops (30 Windows / 10 Macintosh) loaded with the most commonly used software in the Loan Bank, plus peripherals and shipping cases. Due to the high demand for use of these computers, we have developed guidelines so this service can be accessed in an equitable and efficient manner. Guidelines for Use of the Mobile Lab Requests - Requests for the Mobile Lab are made through SETdata. View SETdata Help at https://setdata.setbc.org/help.asp?helpid=128&subject= for details on the request process. Cycle System - Consultants / teams can plan workshops one cycle at a time and put in requests for the mobile lab by the Provincial Review dates. All of the requests for a cycle will be considered at one time and lab bookings will be fairly distributed across regions and consultants. Request dates for 2007-08 are May 31, 2007 for the fall (September 1 to December 31, 2007) December 3, 2007 for the winter (January 1 to March 31, 2008) February 22, 2008 for the spring (April 1 to June 30, 2008) Response to Requests – The PRT will balance requests from consultants to ensure equal access. Priority will be given to: SET-BC workshops on technology currently in the Loan Bank SET-BC resource development projects. Larger workshops that can’t be presented using regional equipment. Other Strategies Teams can set regional priorities for requests. Consultants can provide alternative dates for requests. The number of laptops booked should be realistic for each event (2 people per computer). Additional requests throughout the cycles will be supported whenever possible.
