Introduction
A. Company Profile:
Known for innovation and excellence, North Kansas City Schools is a district of learners
including a little more than 18,900 students. Located in Kansas City’s Northland, NKC
Schools offers academically rigorous learning for young people in grades K-12.
NKC Schools is among the largest districts in the KC metro area with 21 elementary
schools, 5 middle schools and 4 high schools. In addition, the state and nationally
accredited school district offers optional Pre-K and before/after school programs,
expansive gifted/honors opportunities, career and professional academics, A+ certified
high schools, as well as nationally recognized adult and community education programs
for learners of all ages.
This growing school district currently enrolls around 2,401 employees, 245 retirees and
71 Cobra participants on their medical plan.

B. Objectives and Current Plans:
North Kansas City Schools (NKCS) is currently insured on the ancillary plans by
Guardian Life Insurance. This partnership has been in place for many years. Current
coverages are below

employee’s volume. Guarantee issue of $50,000.
 Child(ren): $2,500 to $10,000 in $2,500 increments, not to exceed 50% of the
employee’s volume. All amounts guaranteed.
Voluntary AD&D (not tied to Voluntary Life)
All Classes
 Employee: $10,000 to $500,000 in $10,000 increments.
 Spouses: 50% of the employee volume to $250,000.
 Child(ren): 10% of the employee volume to $10,000
Voluntary LTD
All Classes:
 50% to $5,000
 90 day elimination period
 2 year own occupation/any occupation thereafter.
 W2 reporting w/FICA matching
NKCS would like to continue to offer the same plan designs as they currently offer.
Please match plan designs as close to current as you can.

C. Performance and Rate Guarantees:
Provide any type of implementation guarantees that are available to the group. In
addition to implementation guarantees, we would like for you to provide ongoing
performance guarantees in regards to the service of the group.
Financial stability is crucial to many public entities including school districts. Please
provide extended rate guarantees on your proposal.
D. Marketing Platform:
Marketing for this RFP will be conducted on the IBX platform. If you are a carrier
that participates on the IBX platform we ask that you complete your proposal online.
If you do not participate on the platform, we will still accept your proposal over
email/paper.
