Research Areas
Ph.D. Area of work:
Realization Of Logic Circuits and Image Processing using
Quantum Nanodevices
 Develop a 2D periodic array of GaAs quantum dots embedded on the surface of
GaAs resonant tunneling Diode. In the structure each dot is coupled electrically with
its nearest neighbor and interfaced with the substrate by a resistor which exhibits
negative differential resistance.
 As the substrate is having non linear characteristics so current passes through the
substrate will also be a nonlinear in characteristics.
 Non linearity of the substrate conduction can yield global associative memory effect
and lead to image processing.
 Through the structure realization of basic logic gates are possible and thus the
morphological image processing can be done by those logic gates.
M.E. Area of work:
Motion planning of a mobile Robot on Pioneer2 Platform
 A mobile Robot is an active hardware agent that builds perception about its world
through sensing and generates control commands for motion and actuation of its
arms to achieve a definite goal for operation in a closed environment a Robot is
required to know its environment for its safety and security and also for the
reliability of its performance.
 In the navigational planning problem a robot has to identify the trajectories between
a starting and goal position within its environment. Depending on the planning
problems we classify it into two categories viz. offline and online planning. For
offline planning an algorithm is employed which is known as quadtree based
heuristic search in order to find the shortest path.
 Offline planning is concerned with the determination of trajectories when
obstructions are stationery.
 Online planning is concerned with an environment full of dynamic obstacles.
