Fundraising Volunteer
Who we are:
The Alexandra Park and Palace Charitable Trust (APPCT) is a statutory charity set up by the
London Borough of Haringey to run Alexandra Park and Palace. Alexandra Palace is located
in a Conservation Area. The Palace is Grade II listed with English Heritage and the Park is on
the English Heritage Register of Parks and Gardens.
Why we need your help:
Alexandra Palace is embarking on a major regeneration project to open up the currently
derelict spaces in the eastern end of the building. These spaces contain the most historically
significant areas of the Palace including a beautiful Victorian Theatre which has remained
unused for the last 80 years and the original BBC Studios from which the first public highdefinition television transmission was made in 1936.
An application has been submitted to the Heritage Lottery Fund for vital funding which will
enable the regeneration project to go ahead. We are due a decision on this in April.
We’re embarking on an ambitious and highly important fundraising campaign to raise
£500,000 by the end of 2015. This will ensure the completion of the regeneration project so
that the eastern end of the palace will once again be opened and enjoyed by the public.
We are looking for a volunteer to support our fundraising through vital research of funding
opportunities including Trusts and Foundations, Corporate supporters and local ambassadors
in preparation for funding applications and campaigns. You will also lead on assigned projects
