Arriva are introducing a new range of travel tickets for students in Post 16 education.
Flexible payment options including day, weekly, termly or annual ticket price options
Facility to travel any time of the day during the Academic Year – this includes half term
breaks as well as Christmas & Easter Holidays .
The travel passes will offer students travel within a particular zone or between zones.
There are a number of zones and each zone will represent a particular geographical
area
There are 8 zones:
1. Berwick
2. Alnwick
3. Amble
4. Ashington
5. Morpeth
6. Blyth Valley
7. Hexham
8. Tyne & Wear (Add-On Zone)
The costs will range from £430 a year for a one zone pass; £530 a year for a two zone
pass and £660 for a three zones or more pass, which will cover all of Northumberland,
Newcastle and North Tyneside.
For most, but not all, Post 16 students the purchase of a one zone pass will be
sufficient to enable them to travel to and from their local high school.
The purchase of two or three zone tickets will be required if longer distance travel is
required.
Arriva will soon be able to offer direct debit facilities for annual ticket purchases which
will enable families to buy these zonal tickets at the prices quoted here without the
need to make one big payment. Further details will be available shortly via this
webpage and Arriva’s official website at http://www.arrivabus.co.uk/

The key change, since 2013, is that Stagecoach will no longer ask that the young
person is in education, they just need to be under 19 i.e. 5 to 18 years old.
The prices of the actual VIP tickets, to buy with the VIP ID card, will remain valid for
2014 but are subject to review in Jan 2015.
The link below will bring you to the bus company VIP page, which will be updated this
