Tips for learning a foreign language: 1. Go on-line to the Tallmadge website - www.tallmadgeschools.org. Click on Moodle – then your French class. You can use my Power Points and link to on-line practice OR the following are the websites for the on-line practice www.go.hrw.com (type in code from chapter we are on) OR www.thinkcentral.com (type in code from chapter we are on) 2. Write out all the vocab words / expressions on a blank paper - use your note sheet and cover the French &/or use the pictures in packet - then check your notes for accuracy - do this over and over until all are remembered and spelled correctly 3. Create color coded flash cards (this could be on paper cut up into squares & colored) - masculine nouns go on blue - feminine nouns go on pink - other words / expressions go on white 4. Teach a parent what you’re learning each evening - studies show that a person learns the best when they must teach another person! (Will retain up to 90%) 5. Get a study partner / phone partner Call or get together often to practice speaking and listening outside of class! 6. Review notes / in-class worksheets each night 7. Ask for extra worksheets / exercises on things you find tricky 8. Come in during academy if need extra help 9. Complete all homework
